What is ASKUE and where is it applied?

ASKUE systems are a useful innovation that is being actively implemented at the state level. It is designed to solve the problems of control of energy resources and energy sales, allowing companies-suppliers to automatically account for electricity. The system is in demand in bilateral agreements between suppliers and consumers of electricity both in the wholesale and retail electricity markets (WEM and REM).

ASKUE

What it is?

Before installing an automatic metering device, it is necessary to familiarize yourself with what the ASKUE system is (the abbreviation is deciphered in clause 6.12 of the Order of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation dated 19.06.2003 No. 229 "On approval of the rules for the technical operation of power plants and networks of the Russian Federation"). ASKUE is an automated system for commercial electricity metering.

A more detailed name is AIIS KUE (automated information and measuring system for commercial electricity metering).The system is a complex of control and measuring equipment, communication communications (data networks), computers and software (software).

The principle of operation of the system is as follows: meter readings are automatically taken from each point of consumption (for example, an apartment in an apartment building or a cottage in a holiday village) and brought through the communication lines to the server where the data is processed.

Why you need automated accounting

Automated commercial metering of electricity (capacity) allows you to determine the values of accounting indicators that can be used in financial calculations.

The purpose of ASKUE is to carry out procedures for collecting and transmitting information, storing information in a specialized database (the database has an increased degree of protection against loss of information and from unauthorized access), processing consumption readings (calculating consumed electricity). Based on the received data, a report is compiled. With its help, the cost of consumed electricity is calculated and invoices are issued to consumers.

The system allows you to track the balance, predict the results of future periods in terms of consumption (generation), make decisions about changing the mode of operation of electrical equipment (perform remote control). If energy consumption is carried out without payment, then the supplier can remotely turn off the load, introduce power restrictions.The possibility of illegal consumption of electricity is reduced in the private sector by moving the metering device to the border of the balance sheet (to the support).

Both for consumers and suppliers, the advantage of the system is that ASKUE meters eliminate errors that occur during manual readings.

In addition, the need for control measures associated with checking meters by technicians is minimized. The problem of controllers' access to metering devices is being solved, since meters transmit information to the Center in automatic mode.

What does the ASKUE system consist of?

The AMR system is a complex "organism" that requires monitoring and maintenance. However, the simplest ASKUE scheme consists of only 3 elements:

  • collection of information;
  • connection;
  • analysis and data storage.

These elements correspond to the following levels:

  • level 1 - this is ASKUE equipment or electricity meters (electronic or induction electricity meter);
  • level 2 - communication lines (mobile communication, telephone lines, Internet);
  • level 3 - computer data processing tools designed to collect and analyze readings.

As metering devices, sensors can be used that have an output for connecting the RS-485 interface, and sensors connected through special analog-to-digital converters. Old induction devices can also be used, provided that readers are installed that convert the number of revolutions of the disk into electrical impulses. Reading sensors allow you to transmit information even from an old-style meter. However, special software is required to connect the sensors.

Today, induction meters are considered obsolete.Counters of a new type (electronic) transmit information to the server through a special port. The main components of a modern electronic meter are: current transformer, LCD display, electronic circuit power supply, microcontroller, clock, telemetry output, supervisor, controls, optical port (optional).

There are limitations related to the number of digital signal receivers. RS-485 interface is used to connect sensors with controllers. The input impedance of the information signal receiver via the RS-485 interface line is 12 kOhm. Since the transmitter power is limited, this creates a limitation on the number of receivers connected to the line. The standard interface is capable of receiving electronic signals from up to 32 sensors. This is a problem that is solved at the design stage.

Elements of the second level include the construction of communication lines (including fiber-optic) and the installation of equipment for communication facilities. The third level consists of a server or computer with installed software that allows data processing.

Installation of ASKUE

Installation of the ASKUE system is impossible without preliminary design work. Design allows you to determine the type of equipment used and the number of metering devices.

After carrying out the calculation and design work, installation is carried out. This process involves not only the replacement of meters. In addition to metering devices, it is necessary to carry out the installation of modems, servers, computers.Wires and cables are laid (sockets may be needed to connect additional equipment - custom displays designed to view readings from meters installed in hard-to-reach places). Only after that the equipment is connected and adjusted.

Qualified contractors include a range of services in electrical work: construction work, supply, installation, commissioning and commissioning of equipment, commissioning of AIIS KUE, coordination of the project with all necessary infrastructure organizations.

Installation is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the customer and taking into account the data of the object. It is important to optimally configure the system: set the correct parameters and make a reliable connection. This affects future performance.
